We have had a very exciting few months. In December we hosted our amazing Queertawe Fringe<\/a> to showcase all of the incredible work made by our Queertawe participants and commissioned artists! There was 7 events <\/strong>across the weekend, including a cabaret, food art, theatre, poetry, visual art, a murder mystery and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Queertawe Fringe<\/a> had 340 audience members<\/strong> across the weekend even when faced with storm Darragh\u2019s strong winds. There were 42 participants<\/strong> who contributed writing, performance and art to be showcased in the Fringe and 6 commissioned artists <\/strong>sharing films, theatre and food art created with support of the Queertawe team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was all made possible by the amazing Queertawe team, all 5 of our venues<\/strong> across Swansea,\u00a010 freelance artists<\/strong>\u00a0who worked with us and the\u00a09 volunteers<\/strong>\u00a0who helped staff the events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cQT has definitely been a positive impact on my mental health. Volunteering at the fringe festival 2024 led me to have conversations I would never have had with people I would never have met. It\u2019s reignited my passion for writing, and I feel much more visible and settled in Swansea since moving last year. I also feel more accepted and less of an outsider. We had a really full programme last year of workshops and events; we delivered 130 Sessions,<\/strong> with 120 unique participants<\/strong> and 732 attendences<\/strong> total across all workshops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we are delivering 6 months of sessions <\/strong>from Febuary to July. We have weekly in person sessions in Cabaret performance, Movement, Visual Art and Creative Writing. Accompaning these sessions we have a series of online sessions in Cabaret performance, Queer Career sessions and sessions exploring LGBTQ+ terminology in the Welsh Language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far in Febuary we have had an incredible month with 47 unique participants<\/strong> over 7 sessions<\/strong> and 107 total attendences<\/strong>. Alongside our usual weekly programme we delivered a wellbeing Bath Bomb making workshop led by Primavera with the support of On Your face Collective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
